geographical coordinates are 42° 6′ 9″ North, 74° 26′ 39″ West

Take the NYS Thruway (I-87) to Exit 19 at Kingston then Route 28 West for 31 miles to County Road 47 (also called Oliverea Road or Slide Mountain Road).  If you pass the statue of the Big Indian, you have gone too far… Turn left on Slide Mountain Road ( Big Indian Deli is on the corner) and drive 2.5 miles. Watch for Cold Spring Lodge on the right.

From Western NY, take I 88 to Oneonta then Rt 28 East for 56 miles. Turn right on County Road 47 (Also called Oliverea Road or Slide Mountain Road) Turn left on Slide Mountain Road and drive 2.5 miles. Watch for Cold Spring Lodge on the right.

Trailways runs convenient, easy-to-use coach bus service from Port Authority to New Paltz, Rosendale, Kingston, Saugerties, Woodstock and Shandaken seven days a week.  On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, service can be as frequent as hourly.  You can even bring your bike by simply purchasing a Bike Box for it at Port Authority. MetroNorth runs frequent, convenient service from Grand Central Station to Poughkeepsie, NY seven days a week.  Service is fast and easy, and Ulster County runs supporting bus service to and from the Poughkeepsie train station.
